A transcriptome analysis of mitten crab testes (Eriocheir sinensis) Genet. Mol. Biol.
Zhang,Wei; Wan,Haolei; Jiang,Hui; Zhao,Yunlong; Zhang,Xiaowei; Hu,Songnian; Wang,Qun.
The identification of expressed genes involved in sexual precocity of the mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is critical for a better understanding of its reproductive development. To this end, we constructed a cDNA library from the rapid developmental stage of testis of E. sinensis and sequenced 3,388 randomly picked clones. After processing, 2,990 high-quality expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were clustered into 2,415 unigenes including 307 contigs and 2,108 singlets, which were then compared to the NCBI non-redundant (nr) protein and nucleotide (nt) database for annotation with Blastx and Blastn, respectively. After further analysis, 922 unigenes were obtained with concrete annotations and 30 unigenes were found to have functions possibly related to the...

Approche ecophysiologigue et ultrastructurale de l'osmoregulation chez les crustaces decapodes ArchiMer
Pequeux, A; Lignon, J.
This paper deals mostly with recent physiological data on ion transport across the gill tissue and an attempt is made to correlate them with blood osmoregulation and ecological distribution in euryhaline decapods. A particular attention is paid to the gills of the fully euryhaline Chinese crab Eriocheir sinensis . Supporting this ecophysiological approach, there is an important ultrastructural analysis of the gill epithelium under various salinity conditions. The possible part played by the cuticle in ions movements is also considered.

The molecular characterization of a cyclophilin A from Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis and the antifungal activity of its recombinant protein Electron. J. Biotechnol.
Wang,Mengqiang; Zhang,Daoxiang; Wang,Lingling; Gai,Yunchao; Zhou,Zhi; Zhang,Huan; Song,Linsheng.
Background: Cyclophilin A (CypA), a receptor for the immunosuppressive agent cyclosporin A (CsA), is a cis-trans peptidyl-prolyl isomerase (PPIase) which accelerates the cis-trans isomerization of prolyl-peptide bonds and interacts with a variety of proteins to regulate their activities. Results: The full-length cDNA of crab Eriocheir sinensis CypA (EsCypA) was cloned by EST and RACE technique. The complete sequence of EsCypA cDNA contained a 5' untranslated region (UTR) of 50 bp, a 3’ UTR of 233 bp with a polyA tail, and an open reading frame (ORF) of 495 bp encoding a polypeptide of 164 amino acids with the predicted molecular weight of 17.36 kDa. The deduced amino acid sequence of EsCypA contained two highly conserved signature sequences of...

The Study on the Localization of Acid Phosphatase Activity During Spermiogenesis in Chinese Mitten-Handed Crab, Eriocheir sinensis. OceanDocs
Liu, Guirong; Kang, Xianjiang; Guo, Mingshen; Sun, Wenjia; Wang, Qi.
Ultrastructural cytochemical techniques and electron microscopy were used for localization of acid phosphatase activity during spermiogenesis in Eriocheir sinernsis. The results showed that: Acid phosphatase was synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum in the early spermatids. The acid phosphatase was found gradually in nucleus, the membrane of acrosomal vesicle, the cytoplasmic region and the acrosomal tubule. And then the reaction product particles became thicker during the spermiogenesis. In the mature sperm, acid phosphatase was localized in the percutor organ slightly, but it was massive and compact in the acrosomal tubule.
